Default Folder X toolbar
With Default Folder X, all Open and Save dialogs gain a toolbar of hierarchical
pop-up menus to make opening and saving easier. This menu can also appear in
the menu bar or Dock.

Utility. Assign default folders for every application or perform actions on selected items.
Computer. Browse your mounted volumes with hierarchical
pop-up menus.
Favorites. Access your favorite folders and add or remove favorites.
Recents. Select from up to 100 of your recent folders organized by date or name.
Finder Windows. Open to or save from Finder windows. |
Interface enhancements
Default Folder X makes Open and Save dialogs, and Mac OS X, easier to use
by adding hierarchical pop-up menus, keyboard shortcuts, and accessible and
informative menus.
Hierarchical pop-up menus. Browse with menus that reveal folder contents as you hover over them.
Hierarchical location menu. Use the Open and Save dialog's
location menu as a hierarchical pop-up menu.
Keyboard shortcuts. Open your favorite folders with keyboard shortcuts in every application as well as in Open and Save dialogs.
Dock and menu bar icons. Use Default Folder X's pop-up menus without an Open and Save dialog. Available disk space. See your volumes' available disk space in pop-up menus. |
Finder and Spotlight Integration
Default Folder X integrates with the Finder and Spotlight to put more power
in Open and Save dialogs.

Finder window integration. Click in open Finder windows to save to or open from them.
Get info on, rename, and delete. Manipulate files in Open and Save dialogs as you would in the Finder.
See the big picture. File information and zoomable previews
in every Open dialog.
Spotlight integration. Add Spotlight search keywords and tags
right from the Save dialog.
Click to copy filenames. Click on files in Save dialogs to
copy their filename. |
Customization
Default Folder X allows you to assign keyboard shortcuts and customize its toolbar so you can work quickly.
Default folders. Assign a folder for all Open and Save dialogs to open automatically and assign individual default folders for applications.
Multiple favorite sets. Create multiple sets of favorites for different
projects or tasks.
Rebound. Rebound to the last item you used in every folder.
Favorite synchronization. Synchronize your favorites with those already in your library folder.
Exclude applications. Exclude Default Folder X from some applications.
